After a long winter, the season is finally under way and what a start it has been.
Joey is already on 3 placing from 3 events. It's been a quiet start to the season with only Joey eventing at the moment, Tops was sold just before Christmas and Harvey is now up for sale. I started the season at Swalcliffe, it had all moved around a bit from the last time I was there. I liked the new compressed cross country lay out and Joey must have to. He jumped an great double clear to finish on his dressage score of 30.3 and stay in 3rd place!
We then headed to a very wet Gatcombe, I was grateful to be running early on on the first day. After a good dressage of 31, we just rolled a pole and then had a confident round XC on a rather soggy course. We were up against some stiff competition and we still came 9th!
Most recently we went to Sapey with Joey on outstanding form. We finished 4th in a very competitive section, jumping a double clear on a great dressage of 30.8. Sadly this means we just missed out on regional final qualification. We'll also have to return to Sapey in the future to get the 1st place Joey is missing from his 2nd, 3rd and 4th placings there!
Alongside the great results, the rest of the yard has been ticking along with horses coming for breaking, schooling and selling. Tonto has now been sold to a loving new home and I've had a new arrival called Ferdi. He is a lovely 5YO, KWPN bought from Mark Bosanko and certainly one to be excited about!
